A Hebrew Proverb

A lovely couple with a young child came to see the house that I was moving out of. As I greeted them at the gate to welcome them, I could see that they were weary from their search. After a walk through, and as they were getting in their car, the young mother thanked me for my energy. She said how nice it was to experience a friendly, happy face when all day they had been experiencing tense and stressed out folks.

As she left, I had a chuckle with myself thinking if she only knew the stress I had been under, but why should she? I don:t even want to know it!

I am not superwoman, but I know enough to put my stuff aside when I am with people who need a gentle moment.

I know the world feels a little shaky right now. People are walking like zombies. Staring and walking, sometimes they just look numb. We even need to be more careful when we are driving, as people are just wandering across the street without thinking, or at least not thinking about crossing the street.

So what is the greatest gift we can give ourselves, and each other right now? A smile. That:s right. A random act of kindness. A gentle moment. Love.

Never have we been called to love each other more than we are being called to do so right now. When we give love to strangers, storekeepers or our friends and family, we get back way more than we give. The world may not feel like a gentle place, but we can be. And when we are, guess what will happen? The entire universe will shift to meet our energies. Like attracts like. Love attracts love. And that:s what will heal this nation. I bet you did not know how powerful you are, did you?

We can change this world, one random act of kindness at a time. Oh yes we can!
